I have had an interest in computers, and more
specifically in web design, since my early high school years. I
first started developing web sites in 1995, when the World Wide
Web was still in its infancy. My love and knowledge of computers,
web design and graphic design grew, and in my senior year in High
School was asked to teach a three day course on the basics of web
design to high school teachers as part of their accreditation.
I went on to attend the University of Maine,
where I graduated in May of 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in New
Media. Through both my studies and my work experience during this
period of time, my knowledge of New Media grew to include designing
print ads, digital video editing, and even 3D modeling. Yet, my
enthusiasm remained in web and graphic design, where my studies
and work experience focused most during my college years. I fine-tuned
my skills working with industry-standard graphic design programs,
such as Photoshop and Illustrator. I also extended my knowledge
of web development to include the devleopment of Flash-based web
sites, as well as the development of database-driven web sites using
PHP and MySQL.
Since my gradaution from college in 2003, I
have been working as a freelance web designer, using my skills to
design and develop professional quality, aesthetically pleasing
web sites, while keeping the budget of the client in mind. I am
always excited to take on new and challenging projects, and will
design a site to suit the needs and specifications of each client,
and will go out of my way to develop a site that the client will
be proud of.
